The ranking of Gartner consulting has included Portugal among the 11 developed countries that show greater potential to outsource services in the IT sector. In Europe, Portugal is included side by side with countries and regions such as Ireland, Israel, Scotland, Spain and Wales.
The report indicates that Portugal shows great potential for offshoring operations (outsourcing for distant countries) and nearshoring (outsourcing for nearby countries), due to a domestic mature market, with a qualified workforce insofar as information technologies and business processes are concerned, robust technological infrastructures, adequate legislation and the presence of service provider multinationals with significant investments.
This is the first time that Gartner, one of the most reputed IT global consulting firms, includes Portugal in its list of the 11 developed countries better suited for the outsourcing of information technologies and business processes.
