On the occasion, the President of the Regional Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, who presided over the inauguration ceremony, highlighted the direct and indirect economic impacts of the company’s establishment in the locality. The government official also emphasized the importance of continuous investment in training, noting that “the digital transition brings better opportunities for our young people.”
Tracer acquired Mad Power Technologies, a company based in Madeira, to strengthen its expansion in Europe and improve customer support in the region. With this acquisition, it created a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, focused on innovation, talent development, and accelerating technological solutions. Tracer will invest in training professionals in technological fields and continue to develop advanced tools for the fast and effective detection of online infringements.
The goal is to combat digital threats such as fraud, phishing, and trademark misuse by combining artificial intelligence with human intervention. The company’s platform enables the identification, analysis, and prevention of these risks in digital environments (Web2 and Web3), helping businesses protect their brands and make better decisions.
Since the beginning of the partnership between Mad Power and Tracer, 60 new employees dedicated to technological innovation have been integrated. Currently, the company employs around 70 workers and reports a turnover of approximately €10 million, having already invested about €100,000 in Madeira.
It is worth noting that the growth in the number of technology companies within the International Business Centre of Madeira is one of the main indicators of the Region’s ability to keep pace with the evolution of the global economy and assert itself in international markets. This dynamism is supported by several factors, including a competitive tax regime, the Region’s quality of life and safety, as well as the contribution of the University of Madeira in training qualified human resources in the technological field. The continuous growth of the technology sector in Madeira reinforces the Region’s positioning as a “business-friendly” destination, capable of combining attractive tax incentives with skilled human resources and an efficient network of business support services.
