Argentine Ambassador to Portugal meets with SDM to learn about the Madeira's IBC

The Sociedade de Desenvolvimento da Madeira (SDM) welcomed on October 31st the visit of the Ambassador of Argentina to Portugal, Federico Alejandro Barttfeld, who met with the company’s President, Rogério Gouveia, and board members Marina Pimenta and João Machado.

The meeting’s goal was to present the benefits offered by the Madeira International Business Centre (MIBC) to international investors and entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on opportunities for the Argentine business sector within the European context.

During the meeting, the distinctive features of the MIBC regime were discussed, namely its full integration into the European Union’s economic area, the legal security of its fiscal and regulatory framework, and the range of competitive incentives that make Madeira an attractive platform for the development of international business.

The Ambassador expressed interest in further promoting the awareness of Madeira’s potential among the Argentine business community, highlighting the archipelago’s role as a safe and efficient gateway to the European market.

The SDM Board, in turn, emphasized the importance of fostering institutional and economic dialogue between Portugal and Argentina, reiterating the company’s willingness to support investors wishing to explore the opportunities offered by the MIBC.
